Claire Economidou is Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Piraeus. From the end of 2009 until 2014 she was Assistant Professor in the same Department. Before joining the University of Piraeus, she was an Assistant Professor at the Utrecht School of Economics, Utrecht University, the Netherlands from 2004 to 2009. At the beginning of 2004 and for six months she was an intern at EUROSTAT (EU Commission) in the Trade Sector in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n
He holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2004), a Masters in Economics (M.A.) from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki (2000), and a BSc in Mathematics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1997).<\/p>\n
Her research interests focus on the fields of Economic Growth and Development and International Trade. More specifically, her current research studies the role of productivity, technology, efficiency and trade in the growth of countries (industries).<\/p>\n
Her research work has been published in prominent journals such as European Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, among others, and funded by European (ERC grant) and national (ESPA) funds.<\/p>\n
